Was waiting for the transit to hanover in amsterdam. I spent 1 hr to look for another "yellow-skin" in the airport but ended up, im the only one. Felt even lonelier than ever.. Took only a few pics cos alot of angmohs is staring at me! So shy.... *x*
I was down with serious cough (nv cough so hard in my whole life!) and flu after i arrived but that doesnt deter me from having my first dinner in germany! I had mine in a chinese restaurant just down the road. It is owned by a collegue-friend of ek's and the people there is really friendly! Esp the old grandma.. she offer me hot tea and 2 bottles of wasser to be brought back to the hotel, the min that she knows that im sick. Not home-sick at all since the granny knows how to speak hokkien, yes! hokkien!
This, is the oldest building in the town of Celle. If im not wrong, it should be around 500++ yrs old.
Pictures took while walking around the town. Just nice, there is a christmas market in town. In germany, normally they will have christmas markets in most of the towns, 1 mth before xmas... just like the 'pasar malam' we have back home.
Taken before the hotel while waiting for Tobias to pick us up. Im surprised by his little gift of chocolate, placed on the car seat of each of us.. how sweet... The day started really well.. Off we go to the aerospace museum in Hanover.
We took about 2-3hrs touring the whole museum. Hmm.. was wondering.. 8yrs ago, i was mugging for my history paper on german war, saw many pictures of war planes in the text, how was i to know that i will be able to see and touch a real war plane, in life today. wow~
Cant help but notice Tobias car plate's number. How cool is that.. I wanna get a similar one when i get my car but it will cost a bomb in spore.. Right now, i can only afford to buy 4D on this one.. =p
After museum, we drove back to Celle to meet Enriko, another trainer of EK's, for dinner. Once we are done with dinner, its shopping time at the christmas market!! I really like the christmas market... full of the festive of joy! Im like a happy girl, bouncing and coughing around, humming xmas tunes while i shop..
Sun morning, Tobias drove us out to Erfurt, where the most famous Xmas market in Germany is located. It was a 3hr drive from Celle to Erfurt. Although the journey is long, i had my most exciting ride ever, in my life! All thanks to Tobias, who has kindly 'demostrated' the car running on a speed of 200mph! Its not illegal in Germany as most of the time, the autobahn (expressway) does not have speed limits, but if they do have it, its abt 120mph. I was grinning from ear to ear, praying that i can have the chance to live in Germany and drive like nobody cares.. hehe..
While we walk to the xmas market, i saw a dog as big as its owner.. Dun believe?
Look!
Climbed all the way up the steps of the old church in Erfurt to take a picture of the xmas market. The picture dun do justice with me standing there. The view is really beautiful and awesome!
Met up with Tobias and Enriko for dinner later in the week. I was kept from knowing where we are gonna have dinner, 'a surprise for me', Tobias said. I was then brought to the front of this restaurant, to my surprise.. Thought that i will not have the chance to have dinner over here as i was told by Cheng before, earlier in the week, that Ratskeller Celle is the most expensive and romantic restaurant in town.
This is purely pig's fat! You are supposed to eat it with bread...
My main course - strongly recommended by Enriko is superlicious! Its fish fillet with a special kind of sause and mussels and whipped potatoes. Yummy! My mouth is watering as i type.. I TOTALLY LOVE GERMAN FOOD!
The bill comes in a chestbox. i find it interesting... :)
After the hearty and nice dinner, we went for a drink in one of the pubs along the street. Something just strucks me over here while we were all drinking and talking.. but i shall keep it a secret..
The next weekend, only me and EK went for a trip to Hanover on our own for a live football match, after rounds of pleading by me to ek. There is a xmas market too, in Hanover, so it was pretty crowded.. On our way there, there was a demonstrations on the 'skin-heads' by the people. Over 2000 policemen were there to maintain peace and order. My heart was throbbing while i walk past them but nothin can stop me from catching the football match!
Me @ Hanover Arena (Hanover vs Bledefield) Of course i support the home team! But in the end, they drawed. Football matches is super addictive! Jumping, cheering, booing and singing with all the fans... I think i will come everyweek to catch live football if i live here.. haha. It was really fun!
The next day, a tour around Celle's historical buildings and museums. Suddenly im inmersed into the history of Celle. It was truely an enriching one for me when i toured the castle. Really overwhelmed by the country's rich historical background... Im actually walking on the grounds laid centuries ago!
Garden in the town. Super nice right! I love it, totally... dun wanna leave the place actually.
Sadly, before i knew it, it was my last night in Germany. Tobias and Enriko met us for a farewell dinner at a greek restaurant in town. Finally, i got my taste of Greece food, on the recommendation of Tobias. I like it except that it was too much meat for me. After dinner, someone suggested a late night party before we say goodbyes. So we headed to a pub along the canal but unfortuately, that place is full. While we are walking away, i saw the most beautiful stars in the sky. My jaw just dropped.
Next, Enriko suggest that we go to 'MuFa' a club in Celle where there is a london bus and car in it. Curious by the sound of it, we drove there. As the club only opens at 10pm and when we reach, it was 10plus, we have the honour to be the first customers of the night. haha.. It was fun, but the crowd is just too little.. When its starting to get bored, we move on to another club. The next one, which i cannot rem the name of it, was ALOT more happening and hip than 'MuFa'. AS the carpark is full, we had to park the car a street away and AS the rack in the club is full as well, we have to leave our jackets in the car and walk over. Totally not prepared for this, we were shivering our ass off , walking in only a layer of clothing under the temperature of about 2-3degrees. It was worth it though... At least i get to dance over there, with Enriko. Hehe.. The more fun i have, the more i cant bear to leave!!! Brawls~~
Its 3plus am in the morning when we finally leave the club. Tobias drove me and EK back to the hotel and we said our goodbyes there. Its almost an hr long of goodbyes. I just cant bear to say out the word 'goodbye' to them as i've grown attached to the place. I hope i can come back soon enuff..........
Foods i had in Germany.
Cakes!! Vatter has the most delicious cakes in the WORLD!!
My first xmas gift from Tobias! hehe..
Well, went back to singapore on the 16th of Dec with much misery. =p Much as i hated everything to end, life still has to go on.. Sales targets still needs to be met, money still waiting to be earned. *sighs* But i promise myself that i will definitely go back to Germany again. That time, hopefully, i will see my snow.
