Here i am, checking out the New Majestic Hotel on Vday. It was kinda a last min thing as i only booked their room 2 days before Vday and thus i only managed to get one of their standard rooms. Guess im still quite hectic during that time and so i didnt plan well enough. Luckily, i still enjoyed the day though...Checking in is at 3pm, surprisingly, im the only one checking in at that time, given that i was told the hotel is fully booked for the day. ?? NMH is an old shophouse building along the 'red-light' street in Chinatown back in the olden days. I was told that this building is about 80+ years old, one thing i like is that although they have fully renovated the whole shophouse into the hip-est hotel, they managed to restore the original state of the ceiling, as seen in the lobby.
The room i got is rm 313. Oh, did i mention that all the 30 rooms in this hotel, are all specially designed by 6 well-known designers? Well, no 2 rooms have the same design. The room i got is called 'Hey Diddle Diddle', supposely taken from the childhood nursery rhyme. What i like about the room? The bed, the big plasma tv and the shower head! haha..
Had my dinner at the famous Singapore Heritage Restaurant by the 'Porridge King' (www.porridgeking.com) and since it was only a few days before CNY, the streets of Chinatown is full of crowds. I did my fair bit of shopping, buying some new year decorations and delicacies.
Walking thru the streets, it is like going back to the olden days, imagine myself, wearing a cheongsam, doing shopping on the 'car-free' street. haha..
Overall, i enjoyed my stay here and can't wait to try out their other rooms as well.. =)
A little gossip here (=P) : while i was checking out the following day, i saw Adam Chen checking out too. And the girl with him is definitely not Xu Mei Zhen!
